And the Winner of the 2012 Spelling Bee...

Congratulations to Spelling Champion, Caroline Willett of KEYS (Tidewater Christian Homeschoolers). Caroline won the 2012 Spelling Bee in the 11th round with the word "aberrant".

Second Place went to Alexander Blakley (Cape Henry Collegiate School) and third place to LaParia Speight (Hertford County Middle School). Thank you to all the participants and volunteers of the Spelling Bee.

The champion of The Virginian-Pilot Spelling Bee has won an expenses-paid trip to Washington D.C. to compete in the 2012 Scripps National Spelling Bee.
